JORDAN NAIDOO


Specialist in strategic leadership, policy analysis, monitoring and evaluation, peacebuilding,
and education reform

Dr Jordan Naidoo was Acting Director of IIEP-UNESCO from July 2022 to March 2023. Previous positions included Director, Basic Education for Save the Children USA; Program Associate Turning Points Center for Collaborative Education, Boston, USA; Policy Analyst at the Center for Education Policy Development (CEPD), Johannesburg, South Africa; and Researcher at the Education Policy Unit, University of Natal Durban, South Africa. He has worked directly on programs in Indonesia, Nepal, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Haiti, South Africa, and the U.S., among others. From 2010 to 2015 he served as Senior Education Advisor at UNICEF in New York, where he was responsible for strategy and research on equity and innovation in education. From 2015 to 2019, he was Director of the Division of Education 2030 Support and Coordination, leading UNESCO’s global
coordination of the SDG4 Education 2030 Agenda in Paris. Prior to joining IIEP, Jordan was Director at the UNESCO Kabul Office and Country Representative to Afghanistan. Among other publications, he was editor of Community Schools in Africa: Reaching the Unreached (Springer, 2007).
